Five million illegal immigrants are given a free-pass and not deported. Really? My question is this; how many of these people (or their parents) have fake or stolen identities? If a person is living in the United States “illegally” would it not be right for a thorough investigation to find out if they used stolen identity to get here, stay here for five years or longer, and use our health care or education systems?
Has this issue been addressed by the media? How is it that Identity Theft is not considered a crime hideous enough for prosecution? Identity Theft not only steals financial, medical information, social security numbers, but also steals a victim’s life. No-one is the same person after such a repugnant act.
Regardless of how the political and news media spin this issue, Identity Theft could very well be the core crime. I’m not saying these illegal immigrants have stolen identities. What I am saying is that no-one who steals identity from another person has the right to stay free in this country. This issue requires investigation.
Identity theft is real and drains life from the victim. The phantoms of Identity Theft are criminals. What is the reason these phantoms are not captured and punished?
Think about this scenario; you have worked hard, invested wisely, paid your taxes, and raised a family. You haven’t lived a perfect life, but you haven’t stolen either. Your children are in college or trade school preparing for their American Dream. You feel your life is “on track” and then you use a credit card to pay for gas for your car, and the credit card is invalid. Perplexed you try another card. This card is also invalid.
You call the banks only to learn you have no money on your credit cards, but you are totally “wipe-out” with no money in your checking accounts, or savings accounts. As days turn into weeks, you learn your investment accounts are empty. To add insult to injury you get a call from a pharmacist (one that you don’t use, or one in a different country) that your prescriptions need approval by your doctor. You call your doctor only to learn he has no knowledge about this issue. Now your doctor is in the “hot-seat” and your doctor is as innocent as you are.
Identity Theft affects every family member, including children. This is a repulsive crime. You lay awake at night wondering who did this to you? And more importantly why did someone do this to you? Did they buy your identity from someone who actually stole your identity to get financial information to help their evil purchasing habits? Or did they steal your identity for the sole purpose of just living and working in The United States of America?
How do you really feel about giving freedom to immigrants that have not been thoroughly investigated for Identity Theft?
